In 2019 we had record numbers and a new course record (1h 42′ 32″) set by Mark Kenneally just 4 seconds ahead of Thomas Hayes with Eric Keogh and Gary O Hanlon also breaking the old course record.
Mark and Gary went onto to both beak 2h 17′ in the Dublin Marathon 3 weeks later and Eric ran 2h 18′ in Frankfurt 🙂
Ladies winner was Isobel Oakes in 2h 07′ 02″ ahead of a 2h 48′ DCM result
General route for the Irish 3/4 Marathon is shown HERE.
Total climb over 19.66mile/ 31.65km route is only ~100m
This is ideal as it is ~3/4 of the climb in DCM
In 2022 we may have some slight course changes to simplify logistics and improve participant experience
Any course changes will be detailed, if applicable, closer to the event
I’ve done a lot of events over the last few years including runs, cycles and adventure races and never have I given any feedback but I felt I had to after this one. I thoroughly enjoyed the race and the organisation and planning put in was second to none! From the parking to registration to the route and the finish line it was excellently organised! I couldn’t fault a thing! I will definitely be recommending it to anyone doing the marathon.Sarah Morgan
I just wanted to contact you to thank you for organising an excellent event on Sunday last. Everything was top class, from the stewards to water/food stations which provided for a thoroughly enjoyable runKieran Flannery
I just would like to say thank you for putting on such a wonderful race today. Everything was so well organized. Water station great – you could have stopped and had a feast at each one. Stewards very friendly and gave great encouragement and support. I def will be back next year and will bring my running friends too.Shona Matthews
